March 6 2011 - Surfing, Catamaran, Hard Rock Cafe!

Aloha!

This morning we were not ready to wake up so early, after having a long day of traveling and getting jet lag. Once we got to breakfast, it was totally worth getting up so early. Our breakfast and restaurant location are amazing. We love the view, the palm trees, the ocean and just being together with the other exchange students. It feels like we have known each other for longer than one day already!

We took a walk to the beach where we stayed all day. We all had a chance to ride on a catamaran, where we got to see some whales in the distance! We also got to snorkel, swim with the fish and sea turtles!!! The water is soooo blue! Everything fits together, there is nothing wrong with the way Hawaii looks! If we could, we would decide to just stay at the beach and listen to the waves all day. (or stay in Hawaii for ever) We also had surf lessons! It was more work than expected. We had to paddle out to the waves and that was the hardest part. We all stood up and caught a wave, which made us all very happy! We couldn’t believe that we were actually doing it!

Throughout the day we had typical Hawaiian rain showers, sprinkles here and a quick shower there, all spread out through patches of sunshine. We had some time for our selves and got to walk back to the hotel. Most of us went straight to the hotel to shower and get ready for dinner at Hard Rock CafĂ© Honolulu. We loved the environment of that place! They played the song “I got a feeling” and we all got up and started dancing! There are so many of us, we almost didn’t have enough room to dance! The care free feeling of the whole night was like a dream!

Once dinner was finished we got free time to walk back to the hotel and check out a lot of stores on Waikiki. There are many street entertainers along the main streets and some of them are actually pretty good. We stopped to watch this “hip-hop” group perform. They were getting the crowd hyped up to watch one of the performers jump over random people from the crowd. They lined up 6 people, and made them bend at the waist then one performer jumped all the way over the 6! It was ridiculous!

We all had to be back to the hotel to meet in the lobby later. We are all so exhausted, excited, a little too red and very happy to be in Hawaii! This is only the first day and it has been so amazing! We have already done so much and we can’t wait for the rest of the week to come! We are all anxious to continue our week together and make our BFFE’s (best friends forever ever) We hope you can all experience Hawaii someday! This is our dream come true!
